Blackwing Pencils

We are excited to be carrying Blackwing pencils.  In our old location we carved out an area I called the Analog section.  In our new location we will do the same.  This is the place where we embrace our journals, love typewriters, use fountain and dip pens and use luscious inks, so I am very excited to be adding the Blackwing pencil

In case you have not heard about them, here is the back story:

IN the 1930's Faber Castel made the Blackwing pencil.

Legendary Grammy, Emmy, Pulitzer and Academy Award winners have created with the Blackwing 602 pencil. The list of known users includes John Steinbeck, Looney Tunes creator Chuck Jones, and Disney animator Shamus Culhane.  In 1998 Faber Castel discontinued making it.

The current makers tapped into over 100 years of family-run pencil industry experience to re-introduce Blackwing pencils in 2010.  In the 10 years since its revival, Blackwing has grown from a single pencil into a culture. It’s a culture that's all about living mindfully and finding balance in our fast paced lives.

The Blackwing Two-Step Long Point Sharpener creates a long point using a two-step sharpening process. The first hole sharpens the wood and the second hole precisely sharpens the graphite core.

Each sharpener features a matte rubberized finish for added grip and German steel sharpening blades. The sharpener can hold three fresh sharpens before needing to be emptied.

The Blackwing Point Guard is designed to ensure your Blackwing pencil gets wherever you’re going in one piece. Crafted out of lightweight, machined aluminum, the Point Guard goes over the point of your Blackwing pencil, keeping it safe in your bag, pocket or planner.
