Junk Journal Assembly Day
Today's the day it all comes together! Bring in the papers you've dyed and all the little treasures you've created in our previous sessions — it's time to bind them into a one-of-a-kind junk journal.
Pack up your dyed papers, tags, pockets, and embellishments, along with any patterned or decorative papers you'd like to include. We'll also have a stash of vintage ephemera, old book pages, ledger sheets, and assorted "junk" on hand for anyone who wants to mix in a few extra surprises.
We'll walk through simple binding methods to pull your pages together into a sturdy little book, plus tips for arranging signatures, adding pockets and tuck-spots, and balancing your papers for a cohesive look. Whether you're aiming for a tidy, organized journal or a wild, layered mixed-media masterpiece, you'll leave today with a finished (or nearly finished!) journal that's entirely your own.
Bring with you:
- Dyed papers from previous classes
- Any handmade elements, tags, or embellishments you've created
- Patterned papers you'd like to use
- Scissors and a glue stick, if you have favorites
We'll provide: vintage papers, ephemera, binding materials, and all the "junk" you could want.
Want me to add a supply list with specific tools (like awls, waxed thread, or bone folders), or format this as a flyer/artifact?
